[2023] Fall Bucket List: Scary Movie Night #2
Night #2 called for pizza to be delivered and a childhood favorite, Cup of [Graveyard] Dirt.
I am definitely a child of the 80’s and early 90’s when my family would grab a pizza from Pizza Hut and a couple of movies from Blockbuster every Friday night.
I even remember cup of dirt being a Halloween party favorite in elementary school.
So I felt like tonight could be a nod to the classics, classic food with a classic horror movie lineup.
- A Nightmare on Elm Street
- Friday the 13th
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Do you have a favorite “classic” scary movie?
[cup of] Graveyard Dirt
Ingredients:
- Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix (plus whatever is needed in package directions - Pre Mix & Chill in the fridge before assembly)
- Brownie Mix (plus whatever is needed in package directions - Pre Bake & Cool before assembly)
- Oreo Cookies, Crushed
- Fun Toppings: Candy Pumpkins, Halloween sprinkles, and Graveyard tombstones. Also fun, mini shovels in place of spoons.
- Clear Plastic Cups
Directions:
1. Preparation: Prepare the chocolate pudding and brownies per package directions. Make sure pudding is cold and brownies are room temperature.
2. Crush or food process (for finer consistency) an entire package of Oreos. I like the traditional kind but caramel flavor, mint, etc. would also be delicious.
3. Building your cups: Grab a cup and layer in this order; pudding, crumbled brownies, caramel syrup (optional), pudding, crushed Oreo Cookies.
4. Decorate with fun toppings and a mini shovel for scooping. - Enjoy!
